All cars are now fitted with computers and one board technology to run and monitor the internal workings of the vehicle. One of the most important functions is that the computers provide ensuring the car is operating within the manufacturers parameters ie the engine, safety systems all operating correctly and safely. If the driver becomes aware of these functions on the dashboard they can be located using a diagnostic computer and this can be adjusted or cleared.
